    Curacao wakeboarding

Curaçao is surrounded by ocean waters, perfect for diving adventures, but have you ever tried wakeboarding? Experience the thrill of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by flying in fact over the ocean!

The water sport known as wakeboarding combines elements of surfing, skiing and snowboarding. When you are on a wakeboard, you can achieve incredible speeds. That said, the waters of Curaçao provide an excellent environment for this activity. If you like to go fast and be coordinated, wakeboarding is definitely the activity for you.

Kite surfers can have a blast on Curaçao. A warm northeast trade wind blows on average 300 days a year. Thereby, the Caribbean Sea around the centrally located ABC island has a pleasant temperature all year round. Kitesurfing is at its best in Curaçao between the months of February and August. After that, winds averaged 16 knots, with gusts up to 32. On your vacation, learn to kitesurf in the warm waters off the coast of Curaçao.

In fact, kitesurfing lessons are available at several beautiful beaches. Inexperienced kitesurfers are kept informed by their instructors via radio link. There is always a boat sailing along to keep an eye on things as well. Fans of kitesurfing are sure to have a great experience on the waves and wind at Sint Joris Bay, Klein Curaçao and Playa Marie Pampoen.

Thank you Eduard and Jeanette for the best experience ever in Curaçao. For experience like this changed my/our way of vacationing on islands. In our case our morning alarm was the ocean, the breeze and the nice smelling environment. A total experience. We stayed in the “bientu” room which translates to breeze room, the perfect name for the room. Breakfast was delivered on time and trust us when we say that it is a all inclusive breakfast. Beautiful decorated monument close the activities, restaurants, museums, bars, shopping you name it. Oh, and they have their private beach and pool too!

We had a wonderful time at Terra Boutique Hotel. Jeanette goes the extra mile and beyond to fulfill every wish her guests have. One of us eats gluten free and vegan the other one vegetarian and she did everything she could to offer good breakfast options. Breakfast comes from Bistro Pietermaai and they struggled with our dietary needs. There is a big refrigerator with free drinks: not only water, but also soft drinks and beer for free. You will always find a plate with fresh fruits and little glasses with mixed nuts. Our room was beautiful (we had the Kandela suite). The little beach is very charming, and you can enjoy your breakfast either from there or the little balcony with great ocean views. The hotel is perfectly located in Pietermaai with many restaurants around and in close walking distance to other touristy parts of Willemstad. The hotel team will help you find restaurants, taxi, tours and much more and they are always accessible via WhatsApp.

Great place to spend your time on curaçao! We booked the suite kandela for 9 nights. You can enjoy your breakfast on the beach or on the balcony, you get a privat parking space for your car (I recommend renting one to explore the island), you can take cold drinks /fresh coffee /fruits whenever you want out of the kitchen, and the staff is really nice and helps you with everything you need(thank you again Jeanette!) the hotel has a great location near the center of. Willemstad – i highly recommend this hotel!

    Windsurfing Curaçao

These days, taking a windsurfing lesson is a warm trick. Windsurfing Curaçao’s equipment consists of large, sturdy boards and lightweight sails. This allows you to sail the windsurfboard in both directions within an hour. Teachers are available to teach you the ropes of windsurfing. Fans of windsurfing will love Curaçao. Because trade winds are constantly blowing, surfboards can cruise the Spanish Water at Jan Thiel at high speeds. If you do fall off your board, the warm waters of the Caribbean are a great landing spot. That pleasant temperature saves you from wearing a wetsuit again!

    Wave Surfing

If you like wave surfing, Curaçao is a great place to get in the water. This water sport is suitable for both beginners and experts. It is common for longboarders to ride waves no higher than 30 cm and you will find many of them on Curaçao. The wave surfing season on of the island runs from May to December. Curaçao’s coastal golf conditions are ideal at this time of year.

This is because elsewhere in the Caribbean, hurricane season is in full swing. Curaçao is fortunate to be just outside the hurricane zone, but does have to deal with the weaker waves. Currently, there are more and more surf schools on the island where you can perfect the sport and have a fun experience. Sint Joris Bay, Playa Kanoa and Klein Curaçao are definitely the best wave surfing locations in the Leeward Islands.

    Canoeing or kayaking

Curaçao is also a great place for canoeing or kayaking. Paddling a kayak or canoe through the island’s many bays, lagoons, inland waters and mangrove forests is a fun way to explore nature and enjoy the beautiful views. That could be another adventurous trip. Canoeing and kayaking are best done early in the morning or after sunset. Around those times, the tropical heat is less intense and it is a wonderful place and time to spend on the water. Also, you will have the chance of fantastic photo opportunities. The Caribbean Sea, Spanish Water, Caracas Bay and Piscadera Bay are where most people go kayaking or canoeing.

    Stand-up paddle board (SUP) Curacao

Another “board sport” that has been gaining tremendous popularity lately is supboarding. Also on Curaçao. By using a stand-up paddle board, or SUP, you can paddle in the waters around Curaçao, which are not accessible by any other means. This popular water activity is also called SUP-boarding, sup-surfing, paddle-surfing and stand-up paddle. It is also possible to take yoga classes on a SUP board. That’s another unforgettable experience!

    Jetski and

Curaçao never gets snow, so skiing won’t be it. However, Curaçao is surrounded by crystal clear sea water, so it is no surprise that you can also ski on unfrozen water there. With a jet ski or water scooter, you can cruise leisurely, but also pound hard over the waves of your own making. Should you fall off the ski, there is no figurative man overboard yet. Since the average water temperature in Curaçao is a pleasant 28 degrees Celsius, you can float comfortably for a while before getting back on your jet ski.

    Jump into the water

There is clearly plenty for water sports enthusiasts to do on Curaçao! From super active kitesurfing and wakeboarding to relaxed canoeing and supping along a lovely beach. Whatever you choose for water sports activity, you are sure to have memorable experiences in warm, Caribbean, clear blue waters.
